Walter D. Head has been engaged in educational work since 1902. After teaching in a number of schools, he became Headmaster of the Montclair (New Jersey) Academy for Boys in 1925, am remained there until he sold the school in 1948. He then worked for two years with the Church Peace Union and World Alliance for International Friendship through Religion, and still retains the Presidency of the World Alliance. In 1950 he was elected a member of the Board of Trustees of Bergen Junior College, and in 1951 elected President of that Institution. In 1954 Bergen Junior College merged with Fairleigh Dickinson College, and Mr. Head is now Provost of the Teaneck Campus of Fairleigh Dickinson. He was born in Revere, Massachusetts, and was graduated from Harvard University and from Columbia University.

Mr. Head has been a Rotarian since 1919. He is a former member and Past President of the Rotary Clubs of Buffalo, New York, and Montclair, New Jersey, and he is now a member of the Rotary Club of Teaneck. He has been active in Rotary International as President (in 1939-40), Vice-President, Director, District Governor, and as chairman of several committees. He was one of Rotary International's consultants to the American delegation at the United Nations Conference on International Organization in 1945, and he has been an observer for Rotary International at meetings of the United Nations Economic and Social Council in New York City .
