Joseph A. Caulder's

Recollections of

JOHN POOLE

John was from Washington and he succeeded Leslie Pidgeon as President of the International Association of Rotary Clubs on July 1st, 1918. He presided at my first convention - Salt Lake City, June 1919. I will never forget the heat of that week. We met in the Mormon Temple. When the heat got too much for John, he handed the gavel to the Immediate Past President E. Leslie Pidgeon, and I was more than ever sold on Rotary by Friday evening, in spite of the 105N. John passed away Aug. 17, 1940.
