Rotary Biography of
GEORGE
Chicago, Illinois. President, Rotary International, 1938-39
George C. Hager has been Secretary of the Consumers Company, a Chicago coal, ice and building materials distributing concern; President of the Chicago Federal Savings and Loan Association; and Vice-President of Eversharp, Inc. He was born in Bristol, Tennessee, and was graduated from King College in Bristol and from the University of Tennessee. He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Chicago since 1927 and is a Past President of that club. He has served Rotary International as President (in 1938-39), Director, Rotary Foundation Trustee, and as chairman and member of numerous committees. Mr. Hager is a Past President of the Constitutional Protective League of Illinois, and a Past Director of the Metropolitan Junior Achievement of New York. During World War I, he was a Lieutenant in the Field Artillery. He has been decorated by the governments of Bolivia, Chile, Republic of Panama, and Peru.
