Joseph A. Caulder's

Recollections of

RUSSELL F. GREINER.

Russell was the third President of the National Association of Rotary Clubs. He has maintained his interest all through the years and at the 1952 Institute at Lake Placid he read his inaugural address as President of the National Association of Rotary Clubs, given in 1913 at Buffalo. It was an inspiration to young Rotarians. At the close of the reading his old pal Guy Gundaker said, in a clear voice; "You left out the last paragraph", and sure enough Russ had to admit he had done so. One is amazed at such memories. I met Russell first at either Salt Lake City convention 1919 or Los Angeles in 1922, and almost every year since. I had the pleasure of sitting at his special table at the Rotary Club of Kansas City on April 16th, 1953. I had John (5) with me. Mary Pickford spoke that day. It was grand to note the attitude of the younger members to this grand old Rotarian.
