Joe Caulder's Caption This photo was taken at the Oct. 1941 inter-City meeting held each year by the Rotary Club of Rochester, N. Y. There has been over 1,000 at this gathering, and at one there were 107 clubs represented. At the 1953 meeting 61 past International officers were present. This photo is especially important as Pres. Tom Davis had flown from England where, in London, he saw, at first hand, how awful modern war is. Tom was always an inspiring speaker but this night he excelled himself. There were few dry eyes in the room as Tom told of standing on a street in London and seeing a grief stricken father help remove the remains of his wife and five children from the ruins of what, an hour or so before, had been a comfortable home. Tom had this photo taken of three of us who worked together as Governors in 1921-22. There were only 25 of us that year and when this photo was taken we three (Hart Sealey, Tom Davis and Joe Caulder) together with Bill McConnell, Roy Neville and John Turner made up what was left of the 25. Now (April '54) only John Turner, Bill McConnell, Roy Neville and the writer are left. The passing years take a heavy toll but those of us who are left will always carry fond memories of our 1921-22 group and of our Board and Ches. J.A.C.
