MEETING OF DISTRICT GOVERNORS

INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL

INTERNATIONAL ASSEMBLY

****

This is a historical memorandum of the origin of the international assembly.

Meetings of the governors were held during the international conventions of 1916, 1917, and 1918.

On 17 and 18 March, 1919, a meeting of the governors of that year was held at the Hotel Sherman in Chicago for the purpose of conferring with the international board of director's.

Then in August, 1919, the first meeting ot what was designated as the international council was held in Chicago at the Chicago Yacht Club.

The 1920 meeting of the international council was held at the Hotel Sherman in Chicago.

The 1921 meeting was held at the Drake Hotel in Chicago.

Beginning with 1922, meetings wre held at the Sisson Hotel in Chicago until 1929 when the meeting was held in Dallas immediately after the convention.

In 1930 the meeting was held at the Edgewater Beach Hotel in Chicago the week before the convention, and since that time the assembly has been held the week before the convention, not in the convention city but in some place near to the convention city.

Beginning with 1928, these meetings were called the International Assembly.
