   Rotary membership, outside U.S.     

On the opposite page [above] is shown Rotarian G. A. Kobold, the first President of the Rotary Club of Winnipeg. This was the first club outside U.S. and the club that made Rotary International. G.A. served as President from Nov. 7, 1910 to Jan. 4, 1911. Wm. A. Templeton was No.2; Walter J. Clubb (the first International officer from Canada) No.3; F. J. C. Menlove No.5.

Also, Wm. McConnell of Dublin, Ireland, Governor 24th District, 1921-22, but also a charter member of the Dublin club (Jan. 1911) and as he is the only charter member left in the club, he qualifies as the oldest Rotary member, in years of Rotary service, outside U.S. We visited Bill at his home at beautiful Bray a few miles south of Dublin in 1949. Bill was in a wheel chair but he was the same old witty Irish Bill I first saw at Los Angeles in 1922.
